Local energy, for local people, for local benefit!

Welcome to Energy Local Ashburton

We are a  community-led co-operative club that enables you to source your energy from – and contribute to – our locally generated renewable energy supply.

By matching local energy demand to local generation, the club offers households and small businesses the chance to pay less for power, while helping to build a resilient, environmentally-conscious energy network that benefits your pocket, your community and your planet.

Membership Requirements

We’re initially seeking households and small businesses to become founding members of Energy Local Ashburton.
Prospective members must:

  1. have premises located within the Ashburton Electricity Substation area (see map below)

  2. have a smart meter (or be happy for one to be installed)

  3. be able to switch energy supplier to our partner, 100Green, by being either out of contract with their current supplier, or willing to pay an exit fee to them (if required by that company)

  4. be prepared to accept a tariff with 100Green that, when locally generated power is not being used, may be higher than some domestic tariffs.

If you meet the criteria above, we’d love to have you on board, so please register your interest in joining by clicking on the "I am interested in joining this club" button at the bottom of this page.

The map shows the boundary of the area connected to the local electricity substation & the extent of the Energy Local Ashburton club.

The Match Tariff and Time Of Use Tariffs below are the actual prices for members of the Energy Local Totnes club and are indicative of the prices we will have when the Ashburton club launches.
