Nadder Community Energy (NCE) in the early stages of setting up an Energy Local Club in Tisbury. If established, the club would enable locally-generated solar power to be bought by local consumers at a fair price. As residents of Tisbury and the surrounding area you would be able to take advantage of the solar power generated in the local area to save money on your electricity bills, while supporting local green electricity generation and helping Tisbury to become more sustainable.

After two well-attended community information sessions in 2025 and a good response to an online survey, which was overwhelmingly positive, we're pleased to report that we will be moving ahead with the project.
The planning stage for expansion of the existing small solar array at Pythouse Farm has taken longer than planned but as we come into Summer 2026 we are approaching the launch of a community share offer to raise the funds needed for the installation in the Autumn.
We will be updating those who have already expressed an interest and will be keeping local residents informed through local social media channels, in Focus Magazine, the Hindon Post and on the TisTalk Podcast over the next few months.
We hope to be in a position to soft-launch the club in the Autumn with a handful of members prior to expansion of the membership in Spring 2027.
To join the club you will need to:
- be in the Tisbury Electricity Substation area (see map below).
- be able to switch energy company, (therefore be out of contract or willing to pay an exit fee to your present energy supplier, if there is one).
- have a smart meter or be happy for one to be installed.
- be able to shift some of your electricity demand to times in the day when the sun is shining and therefore, when there will be lots of extra energy.
If you are interested, would like to know more and be kept informed as plans progress, please click the Join Energy Local Tisbury button. Please note that registering interest does not commit you to joining the club.
The map below shows the area covered by the Tisbury Electricity Substation & therefore the extent of the club when it comes into being.

Further information
The feasibility study and development work is being funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and supported by the Southwest Net Zero Hub. NCE won the funding following a successful bid to the Government’s Community Energy Fund (CEF). CEF is a national £10m grant scheme for communities to develop energy projects that will benefit their local area. The funding supports community groups to consider options, design schemes and overcome barriers to investment. The fund is being delivered in the South West by the South West Net Zero Hub on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
