Totnes
I am interested in joining Energy Local Totnes
Welcome to Energy Local Totnes
Set up by the Totnes Renewable Energy Society (TRESOC), Energy Local Totnes is a community-led club that enables you to source your energy from – and contribute to – our locally generated solar and hydro supply.
By matching local energy demand to local generation, the club offers households and small businesses the chance to pay less for power, while helping to build a resilient, environmentally-conscious energy network that benefits your pocket, your community and your planet.

Membership Requirements
We’re initially seeking 200 households and small businesses to become founding members of Energy Local Totnes.
Prospective members must:
- have premises located within the Totnes Electricity Substation area (see map below)
- have a smart meter (or be happy for one to be installed)
- be able to switch energy supplier to our partner, 100Green, by being either out of contract with their current supplier, or willing to pay an exit fee to them (if required by that company)
- be prepared to accept a tariff with 100Green that, when locally generated power is not being used, may be higher than some domestic tariffs (although this may not impact our members often, considering the consistent electricity supply from Totnes Weir Hydro)
- be patient, as we are the first Energy Local club to partner with 100Green, so there may be some initial teething problems!
If you meet the criteria above, we’d love to have you on board, so please register your interest in joining by clicking on the "I am interested button" above or below.

The map shows the area covered by the Totnes Electricity substation & therefore the extent of the Energy Local Totnes club.
The Match Tariff and Time Of Use Tariffs below are guaranteed until 31 March 2025. We will update the Time Of Use Tariffs annually.
You can read the key information document about Energy Local Totnes here.

Come and Talk to Us!
We’ll be having regular stalls at Totnes Market Square in 2025, where we’ll be able to explain in person how the Energy Local Totnes Club can help you benefit most from community electricity.
We’ll also be accepting new members, and be able to guide you through the registration process.
We currently have the following dates booked in at the market:
- Friday 24th January
- Friday 14th February
- Saturday 22nd March
Hopefully, see you there!
